PATRICK BRENNDÖRFER
It all began on June 16, 1990. On that day, Patrick's father took him to a DTM race as part of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. On the front row of the starting grid: Klaus Ludwig and Kurt Thiim, making the debut of the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16V Evolution II. A day that would be etched in his memory and change everything.
The desire to become a racing driver grew early on. The conditions were far from ideal: motorsport was expensive, and financial resources were simply unavailable. But with perseverance, passion, and dedication, the then 15-year-old found his way. After numerous successes in kart slalom and racing karts, the next big step followed in 1998: the move to the fiercely competitive Formula Ford series – a breeding ground for talent that produced drivers like Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.
Driving a Van Diemen single-seater for the Sollath car dealership in Egelsbach, Brenndörfer faced the competition and battled against future stars such as Timo Bernhard and Nicki Reader. In 1999, he switched to touring car racing with a guest appearance in the newly founded Ford Puma Cup.
Also in 1999, a formative chapter began away from the racetrack: Brenndörfer started his professional career as "Employee No. 2" at the Volvo specialist HEICO SPORTIV, which would remain his professional home until 2013. During this time, the Darmstadt native was responsible for establishing and managing the press and public relations as well as motorsport departments. Milestones included international press and marketing activities, the creation of several Volvo concept cars for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and the "ODIN" road concept car, which would later make motorsport history.
As a racing driver, Brenndörfer naturally found his sporting home in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS, formerly VLN) and the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. His record from around 15 years of active racing speaks for itself: two class wins in the 24-hour race, five wins in the 6-hour race, and a dozen further successes in the NLS. In addition, he did genuine pioneering work in the field of alternative fuels. This culminated in the first overall victory for a bioethanol-powered race car in the "Green Hell" in 2007 with "ODIN," and with the Volvo C30 T5 in the 24-hour race in 2010.
From racing driver to team owner.
From employee to entrepreneur.
In 2014, Brenndörfer took the logical next step into self-employment. He quit his full-time job at HEICO SPORTIV and deliberately went "all-in" with the founding of Bremotion. His first client was the chemical company Evonik, which commissioned the newly founded Bremotion Sport Marketing GmbH to further develop the Roding Roadster road prototype for racing and to enter it in the GTC series.
In parallel, Brenndörfer consistently expanded Bremotion's portfolio, adding tuning options for road vehicles. At the end of 2015, the company was appointed an official BRABUS dealer – another milestone on its path to positioning itself as a premium provider.
After competing in the 2018 24-hour race with a Ford Mustang, the focus shifted increasingly to the role of team principal from 2019 onwards. Initially with the Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the ADAC GT4 Germany and the DTM Trophy, and since 2023 successfully in the NASCAR Euro Series. There, Bremotion made history: Bremotion became the first German team ever to win a NASCAR race – at their home race in Oschersleben, no less.
A success that attracted attention far beyond Germany and impressively demonstrates how a formative childhood experience became international motorsport reality.
